On the C&O Canal, Nov. 2004

We are Johnna Armstrong and Paul Woods and we live in a small house near Shepherdstown, West Virginia, with our dog, Lexie. We have a small custom software and web applications company in town, called Business Technology Source.

While we were planning our wedding, we also planned a honeymoon that would take us through all the time zones, above the Arctic Circle, below the Equator and beyond. We left on June 1, 1998 and returned June 3, 1999. We kept an online journal and photo album while we were on the road, which we keep in the section called The Trip.

When we're at home, we love to brew our own beer, and have named our label Old Willow for an ancient weeping willow tree that stands in the front yard of our first house. We decided to stick with the label name even after we moved because it sounds so cool. We make a wicked Ton Eighty stout, and a very nice India Pale Ale. The brewery was quite busy the three or four months before our wedding. In all, we brewed a Canadian Ale, an India Pale Ale, a Ton-Eighty Stout and the Warm Springs Wedding Ale, all with distinctive labels, and all well-received by our guests.
