Hi Everyone,
Well, that's it. The Trip is over and we're glad you all came along for the ride. Not that it's really over, of course. The adventure continues with whatever comes next and the challenge will be to treat real life as a journey. We'll have to find jobs soon, but for the moment, we're just concentrating on settling back into real life. Since we have no house anymore (our friends who are renting it definitely want to buy), we're staying with Paul's Dad for the short term, probably the entire month of June and perhaps beyond.
We spent the last part of the trip visiting friends and family in West Virginia, Virginia and Florida. The last stop was with Paige and Jimmy Dean, Johnna's friends from Thunderbird and Poland. They have a son named Jimmy Jr., who is adorable, and who just found out he's going to be a big brother! Jimmy Sr. publishes Sarasota Magazine, and wrote a Father's Day piece for the June issue that is lovely and very moving called My Father, My Son. If you want to read it, check it out at http://www.sarasotamagazine.com/magframe.html.
There's more stuff up on the site, and there will be a bit more coming soon to finish out the trip. We plan to continue sending updates to this list, though less frequently, for a while yet. We'll let you all know when we move on and get a new place of our own (after the house is sold) and whenever any earth shattering changes come into our lives.
Thanks for coming with us on our grand adventure. The participation of all the people back home and the ones we met on the trip really added an extra dimension to our experience of the trip. We got a lot out of sharing our experiences with everyone. It helps so much to bring out the full color of the experience to when you can relate it to someone else, and cements the memory that much more strongly.
Back home (more or less) at last,
Paul & Johnna
